Drama is an important teaching tool in our school, and is incorporated into many subjects. Lessons focus on communication skills, confidence building as well as theatre skills.  Christmas concerts, held on alternate years, are always one of the highlights. As well as this, many of our boys have been lucky enough to participate in musicals with local youth musical theatre group, Phoenix Productions. These productions have ranged from their cabarets, to “Seussical – the Musical”, and the 2010 production, “Oliver”, in which boys from Scoil Ailbhe played leading roles, including Oliver and the Artful Dodger.

Poetry Alive!

Drama, fun and laughter are the key elements to bringing poetry alive, which is what we do on our annual Poetry Morning. Poems are performed in the school hall, engaging children, staff and parents alike – all through the medium of verse. This is a highly entertaining event, whilst at the same time developing our childrens’ confidence, communication and public speaking skills.
